It's the end of 2024 and let's go out with a bang. In this case - a free tutorial on the cutest mini scrunchies everrr.
You in? Then let's get started.

At the beginning of December I hosted a mini Sewing Series over on Instagram. Cute little projects for you to make - that are great for gifting.
It all started with scrunchies. As they are easy and cute. And they multiply so quickly. Ohhh... and did I mention they are amazing for using up your scraps?
However. I thought we might be able to get one step further. And make them mini. Yes... don't come for me. They are a little more tricky to make. As they're tiny and you have to do a little more wiggling. But they are totally doable. Even for beginners.
And they are so CUTE.
Approved by my (very picky) teenage daughter.
But let me show you exactly how I make them. Just give me 5 minutes of your time and you see how easy and fun they are...
And of course make sure to follow me over on YouTube for more.
Now. let me share some details with you. So have exactly what you need.
Materials
And this is what you need.
- Mini: 2.5" x 22" strip of fabric and 10" elastic
- Maxi: 6" x 28" strip of fabric and 10" elastic
Fabric. Regarding the fabric, you can use whatever you have on hand. Quilting cotton. Linen. Liberty Tana Lawn. Even Lace (they would look so cute). Or Teddy fabric, which I am desperate to try.
I am using my favourite solids by Heather Ross - Ruby and Bee. They come in the prettiest shades of pink. But I think the brown is my fave. It goes so well with my daughter's hair.
Elastic. I bought a huge spool of 1/4" wide elastic. Cheap does the trick.
Needle. You can get a large needle. Or a bodkin. Again, use whatever you already have at home. No need for anything new and fancy.
Pattern Hack
Now even better. if you fancy making them you own. You totally can. You can size them up (or down) even more. Make the elastic shorter, for the tiny pigtails of a toddler...
Use all the fancy materials. Like I've said, I am dying to make a teddy version.
Or a cute tags (right before you join the ends and form your loop). Or cute trimming/ piping to the outer edge of your scrunchie.
Literally. The sky is the limit.
For me. I love the rainbow set. These one will be split amongst my daughter's best friends this Christmas. Each of them gets a set of two. And they will be matching in school.
And that's it my friend.
2024 is coming to an end. And I am looking forward to be hanging out with you in the next year. Making more bags and pouches of course...
As always. I hug your face.
