I am so excited to share this easy Christmas(sy) project with you. Quilty. Patchwork. And Christmas. All the best things in one.
The Mini Stocking!
It's tiny. And perfect for some cute extras to gift to your family and loved ones. Perfect size apparently for super fancy lipgloss. So I've been told.

Mini Stocking
Use your scraps or make it a whole cloth one. Quilted or not. But if you'd asked me, I always make a pink, scrappy, quilted one!
Ohhh... and did I say it's FREE! A free template and video tutorial. HoHoHo!

Ok. Are you ready... here we go!
You can grab my free template right here and I’ll send you a copy of the template right into your email inbox.
👉🏻 Get your free template here!
Now. Let me walk you through how it works. Trust me - its super duper easy.
But before you get started. Read this:
This freebie is not a step by step sewing pattern like my other ones (it's Christmas after all, and we are all buys). But I have included a super detailed YouTube video tutorial. Walking you through every step. And I have added all the instructions on screen. Especially explaining the bit about the longer lining, add this cute little faux piping on top.

Mini Stocking Video Tutorial
Of course. For all you visual learners. I have made a step by step video tutorial. Showing you exactly how I made my Mini Christmas Stocking. No Gatekeeping. Ever.
And of course. If you like to support me making little freebies like this, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel. It really makes a difference.
Click here to watch the step by step video tutorial over on YouTube.
And of course make sure to follow me over on YouTube for more.
Remember. The free template does not include instructions. Please watch the video tutorial carefully - so you can make your very own.

Patchwork Stocking
And of course. I had to make a ton of patchwork ones. The scrappier the better. Using up my favourite prints. Who said you can't make them pink?
If you're new to patchwork. Or new scrappy improv piecing, please watch my video tutorial on scrappy piecing here. I made panels in that video for my bags, but it works just the same way for scrappy mini stockings.

Materials
And finally. Let's talk about materials.
I always get asked where I buy my fabric. As in DMs every day. So let me link a couple of my favourites for you here. I used scraps but you have a buy yardage first so you got plenty small pieces for all the stockings, bags and pouches. Not even talking about quilts.
Next to the template, you will need fabric, thread, left over batting from your last quilt, ribbon and some basic sewing supplies.
Fabric - here a couple of my favourites
- Heather Ross has wonderful cute prints, lots of pink
- Ruby Star Society is always cute
- maybe some neon Liberty, pricy but oh so cute
- this is my favourite pink solid
- gingham, you can never be wrong with gingham
Thread - this is what I use
- I am using Aurifil 28 wt (the grey spools) for machine quilting
- and Aurifil 50 wt (the orange spools) for piecing
Quilt Batting - small scraps is great, Franken-Batting is totally fine here
- this is my favourite quilt batting (I also use it for my bags and pouches)
- alternatively you can use fusible fleece as well
Ribbon - cute, pink, gold...
- I love this gold one
- in combination with this pink one
- but you don't have to double up, you can just use some cute ribbon
Basic sewing supplies - I am sure you have them all, but just in case
- small cutting mat
- this is my favourite ruler
- rotary cutter
- sharp scissors
- wonder clips to hold it all in place and pins
- and a pen
And here's the link to my Amazon Storefront where you can find all the quilty notions I love and use, all in one place.

And finally. If you like to add a couple economy blocks - you can find my free pattern and templates over here.
And that's a wrap, my friend. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Get to sew a little and enjoy the best season of the year with your loved ones and friends.
Ohh and of course, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. I am only an email (laura@sweetcinnamonroses.com) away and here to help. Even though I know you can totally do it!!!
As always. I hug your face. Merry Christmas
Laura x
